Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University College (KLMUC) and Cosmopoint College (CC) are members of the Cosmopoint Group of Companies, a well-established company with over 30 years of experience in providing practical learning experiences as well as a diversified curriculum to meet the current market demand.

KLMUC is the City Campus in Kuala Lumpur and Cosmopoint College has 10 campuses that are spread nationwide.

Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University College certainly has come a long way since its inception in 2006. What started as a Cosmopoint College in Kuala Lumpur quickly grew to become one of the fastest growing University Colleges in Malaysia. Thousands of students and graduates of KLMUC are now contributing greatly to the nation in various capacities – in business, in creative arts, in restaurants and hotels all over Malaysia. Whilst it has faced tremendous challenges in the past 7 years, KLMUC is now back on track and it’s charting a new course for the next 15 years.

KLMUC has always stood for providing industry-relevant graduates, and that mission will continue in its current transformative phase. Current and prospective students can look forward to a new Academic team focused on improving the overall quality in delivery and content, better facilities with continuous upgrades and increased effort to improve employability under our G.E.R.A.K initiatives. SYED ABU BAKAR
Vice Chancellor

 ‘Warm’, ‘Friendly’, ‘Passionate’ and ‘Inspiring’ are some terms used by students to describe Prof Dr Syed Helmy Syed Abu Bakar, the new Vice Chancellor of Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University College.

Prof Dr. Syed was formerly the Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Geomatika University-College but was known more for his involvement in the growth of Management & Science University (MSU) where he served first as an academic in 2004 before taking on various leadership roles including Director of Students & Career Development and Director of Center for Global Program before joining Geomatika in January 2020. 

Dr Syed is a graduate of Bachelor of Science (Hons) (Computer Science) from UKM, obtained his Master of Science in Information Management from UiTM and completed his Doctor of Philosophy in ICT from MSU. He brings with him a wealth of experience in higher education and will be leading KLMUC’s transformation phase that will bring benefit for all in Cosmopoint Group.

The G.E.R.A.K Programme is an initiative to improve the employability of graduates under Cosmopoint’s institutions of higher learning – namely Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University College (KLMUC) and the Cosmopoint Group of Colleges.

The G.E.R.A.K Programme – the first of its kind from a higher-education institution in Malaysia – has three cores

  1. Offering programmes and syllabuses that meet industry needs;
  2. Mandating additional training and modules to improve employability; and
  3. Collaborating with Industry Partners for job placement opportunities and programme input

The unique element to Cosmopoint Sdn. Bhd.’s programme is its offer to return up to 50% of tuition fees to those who fail to obtain employment within 6 months of graduating.
