Business & Entrepreneurship Development

Programme designed to equip students with comprehensive knowledge on accounting, finance and human resource management, all of which are vital in both business and entrepreneurship industry. With a broad range of business knowledge and skills which will enable you to pursue a career in the private or public sectors, with third sector organisations, or in the main business-related professions.

Who is this For?

For the individual who wants to work in organisations of all sizes in all sectors that are seeking to employ people who can work in ways that are characteristically ‘entrepreneurial’. Our degree offers you a broad understanding of Management combined with specialist knowledge of Entrepreneurship theory and practice. It is also for those looking to developing skills appropriate to self-employment, and the confidence to develop one own business.

Programme Description

Entrepreneurship is an important area of study as it is often associated with innovation and is the driver of economic success. The Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Business and Entrepreneurship Development provide students with a good foundation in traditional management such as accounting, finance and human resource management as well as subjects that focus on entrepreneurship, product development, small business development, negotiation, advertising and leadership. Students will be trained to develop a comprehensive business plan with well-constructed financial and marketing components.

Programme Aims

It is to equip students with business and entrepreneurship foundation with strong emphasis on elements in communication, management skills, negotiation skills and selling skills. The programme also aims to teach students to apply real world business applications of key management concept using the tools and techniques taught in the subjects.

Career Prospects

Understanding the business aspect is just one part of running a business. An entrepreneur must also have a product or service that he or she believes in. Those starting a business must be able to accept the high risk/high reward environment of entrepreneurship. Even if one decides not to venture out, the Entrepreneurial Studies will build a solid foundation to begin a career in a variety of business areas such as management, marketing, advertising and sales.

Entry Requirements

  • STPM (2 principal passes) or Diploma or A-Level
  • MUET (Band 1) with PNGK 2.0
  • Other equivalent qualifications recognized by Government of Malaysia
