The programme gives you an understanding of the legal, business and social environments in which accountancy operates and enables you to be conversant in the technical languages and practices of the accounting sector in a market economy.  Programme is designed to provide knowledge and skills required for a student to become a professional accountant with high values in leadership, integrity, ethics and dynamic.

Who is this For?

This programme is for students who want to study financial accounting, management accounting and finance. It will develop the knowledge and technical skills necessary to pursue a career in roles as varied as auditor, treasurer, company secretary and accountant. The programme is aimed at students who are interested in following a career in accountancy or in going on to obtain professional accounting qualifications prior to entering a career in business.

Programme Description

The Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Accounting & Finance is specifically designed to produce qualified professionals in the area of accounting and finance. Graduates are trained with the knowledge and expertise in business administration and other related services/professions. It emphasises on the development of students’ working, interpersonal and professional skills, making them all-rounders who can perform independently.

Programme Aims

It aims to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and skills to ultimately become a professional in the accounting or finance industry.

Career Prospects

Accounting and financial managers oversee the preparation of financial statements and financing planning activities. A graduate can work as an accountant, auditor and a financial specialist in the government or commercial sectors. They can also enroll in professional accounting and financial programmes or postgraduate studies.

Entry Requirements

  • STPM (2 principal passes) or Diploma or A-Level
  • MUET (Band 1) with PNGK 2.0
  • Other equivalent qualifications recognized by Government of Malaysia
