Tourism Management

The programme provides exposure to students in the areas of management and entrepreneurial aspect of the industry covering global tourism, hospitality practices, recent trends and ethical issues faced by the tourism industry.

Who is this For?

It is designed for students who wish to broaden their career options. It is a prelude to a degree in Hotel & Convention Management or Hotel & Restaurant Management as well as a bridge into an employment situation which utilises their skill set.

Programme Description

Bachelor in Tourism Management is a programme that provide students the business skills and cultural education necessary to run travel agencies, organise cultural attractions, operate a food service business, plan meetings as well as large conventions and events.

Programme Aims

Equip students with the advance knowledge and relevant skills in tourism industry specifically for a managerial role.

Career Prospects

A degree in tourism management will equip you with the management skills to meet the challenges in achieving sustainable growth of the tourism sector. It is aimed at cultivating dynamic leaders in the field of international tourism and hospitality management. You will have the necessary skills and knowledge to enter the tourism industry in a wide range of managerial positions, in both the public and private sectors such as travel and tour agencies, hotels, airlines or airports, tourism authorities, theme parks, cruise ships or any other hospitality-focused locale. The degree provides subset of knowledge, entrepreneurial skills, multitasking with strong communication skills, which enable contribution to the growth and continuous improvement of the industry.

Entry Requirements

• STPM (2 principal passes) or A-Level or Diploma or other recognised qualifications
• Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with at least Grade B in 3 subjects
• Other equivalent qualifications recognised by Government of Malaysia
