Designed for people training to become as network administration, who are engaged in the installation and maintenance of network facilities such as wireless connection, LAN, and others.
The Bachelor of Information Technology (Hons.) in Network Technology is a 3-year Degree programme designed to enhance students’ computer and networking technology proficiency. The programme focuses on developing a combination of skills in relation to networking technologies produced by Cisco, Microsoft and Linux. Students are taught the essential knowledge and technical skills in programming, networking, installing, assembling, troubleshooting and application of operating systems and internet working devices. At the end of the programme, students should be able to plan, design, manage, maintain and setup a computer network. With this qualification, graduates can advance to Cisco (CCNA, CCNP), Microsoft (MCP), Oracle (OCA) and Linux certification programmes.
This programme aims to arm students with the skills required to apply for entry-level IT position, the necessary knowledge to handle computer network operating system and network security, provide in-depth understanding of the major components and devices of network system design and train graduates with leading edge technology proficiency in both computer and networking system.
This programme prepares a graduate for a professional career as a computer network engineer, network administrator, network analyst, network design engineer, network capacity planner, network solutions architect and network system engineer.
